Privacy
Cosmetic Journal collects one thing from readers: an email address, and only if you type it into the subscribe form yourself. This page says what happens to it. It is written in plain terms rather than as a legal notice, and it describes what the publication actually does.
What we hold
- The email address you submitted.
- The date you submitted it, and which page the form was on.
- Nothing else. We do not ask for your name, your age, your location, your treatment history or anything about your health, and there is no field on the form that would let you give them.
What we use it for
To send you the newsletter, and for nothing else. We write when UK regulation or professional guidance changes, and when a guide here is revised in a way that would change what a reader does, so that is a few emails a year rather than a schedule.
Cosmetic Journal takes no paid placements, sells nothing, takes no bookings and passes no enquiry to any clinic, so nothing you receive from us is an advertisement and nothing you receive is on anyone else's behalf. How we work is set out in full in our editorial policy.
Who it is shared with
Nobody. Your address is not sold, rented, swapped, published or passed to a clinic, a practitioner, a brand, a device maker or an advertiser. It is not uploaded to any advertising platform and it is not used to build a lookalike or custom audience. The only parties that ever touch it are the hosting and email providers that store and deliver the list on our behalf, and they may not use it for anything of their own.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are on the list. When you unsubscribe the record is deleted rather than flagged as unsubscribed, so there is nothing left to reactivate later. If you have never opened an email from us in two years we remove you without being asked.
How to have it removed
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough. You can also write to us through the contact page and ask us to remove the address, or to tell you what we hold against it, and we will do it by hand. You do not have to give a reason and we will not ask for one.
Cookies and tracking
We set no advertising or tracking cookies and we run no advertising pixel. If that changes, this page changes with it before the change goes live.
Children
This publication is written for adults making decisions about their own treatment. The newsletter is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly keep an address belonging to a child. If you believe we hold one, write through the contact page and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If what we do with an address changes, this page is updated and the date below changes with it. Material changes are described in the newsletter itself rather than only here.
Who publishes this title, and how to reach a person, are on the publisher page and the contact page.
